This paper analyzes the influencing factors of the quality of institutional care of the Cochabamba's Geriatrics Centers. Also proposes an initial model about the institutional care and application of questioners to discover the functional status and essential requirements of their beneficiaries. Our study universe were 4 geriatric Centres (Buen Pastor, San José, Centro Integral de la Tercera Edad, Mi Luz). The samples were 250 people, within residents and helpers. This is a transversal study, descriptive, analytic and qualitative; the questionnaires were implemented with the scales of Firevicius, Kuntzman and Geriatric Assessment. The findings were that the Institutionalized or Hospitalized elder, in Cochabamba in this centers, require better knowledge and multiple skills for those helpers that take care of them, as well as the infraestructure in relation of the needs of the third age patients.
