CARTAGENA PEREZ, Karina Vania  and  IBARRA GOMEZ, Franco. NIVELES DE CREATININA SERICA Y RAYOS X DE TÓRAX EN LA EVALUACIÓN TEMPRANA DE LA PANCREATITIS AGUDA. Gac Med Bol [online]. 2005, vol.28, n.1, pp.16-19. ISSN 1012-2966.

In acute severe Pancreatitis it is commonly find Lung compromise as a functional or radiographic alteration. In previous studies it has been shown that this finding could be used as bad prognosis indicator in the same way that blood creatinine increase. This is a lineal, prospective and analytical study, it was done at Instituto Gastrornterológico Boliviano Japonés. It was considered tall interned patients with diagnostic of acute pancreatitis which was accomplished by serologic and image conventional criteria in absence of malign illness or chronic pancreatitis within the first 24 hours after hospital ingress. It was included 48 patients from which 26 (54%) were female and 22 (46%) male. The age of sample patients was between 36 to 50 years oíd. The most common etiology was biliary 37 (77 %). These patients had blood serum creatinine higher than 2 mg % 10 (20.8%). All patients were tested with a thorax Rx píate 24 hour after their ingress to hospital, which allow us to establish pleural outpouring in 14 patients (29.2%). Seven patients (15%) with acute pancreatitis had creatinine level above 2 mg% and pleural outporing. From this, 6 (84%) died. Within normal creatinine level and pleural outpouring at thorax Rx plate patients, 6 (13%) had better evolution, and only one died (12%). Patients who had a serum creatinine level increase within first 24 hours of acute pancreatitis associated to pleural outpouring of acute pancreatitis associated to pleural outpouring is common in patients with high risk of fatal end.

Keywords : Acute pancreatitis; creatinine; pleural outpouring.
