Resumen

IBARRA GOMEZ, Franco et al. SENSIBILIDAD Y RESISTENCIA DE LAS SALMONELLAS A LOS ANTIMICROBIANOS EN LA CIUDAD DE COCHABAMBA. Gac Med Bol [online]. 2005, vol.28, n.1, pp.3-7. ISSN 1012-2966.

Currently there is not in Cochabamba a record of antibiotic susceptibility of Salmonella. Because of this, we wanted to know the resistance and susceptibility level of salmonella to antibacterial drugs used to treat it. The present work is analytical and retrospective study. We analyzed antibiograms and bacterial cultures at three hospitals from Cochabamba between January 1988 to April 2003. Results show that non Tiphy Salmonella have sensibility of 32.4 % to ampiciline, 46.7 % to cloranphenicol, 42.5 % to Trimetroprin and sulphametoxasol and 76.5% to ciprofloxacine. Regarding Salmonella tiphy, the sensibility is 94.7 % to ampiciline, 84.2 % to chloranphenicol, 68.4 5 to Trimetropim and sulphametoxasol and 84.2 to ciprofloxacine. In conclusión, ampiciline and Cholranphenicol have good sensibility, low price and easy to take, so they should be considered as fírst election drugs for salmonella tiphy. For salmonella non tiphy infections, it was observed an important resistance to almost all antibacterial drugs tested. It is important to take in count the low resistance of ciprofloxacine at time of take decide treatments of infections caused by salmonella.
