Abstract
MARTINEZ PAREDES, Giancarla Ximena and LOPEZ N, Luis. Evaluación de la remoción de fluoruro en aguas con biochar en Bolivia. Rev. Bol. Quim [online]. 2024, vol.41, n.3, pp.14-20. ISSN 0250-5460. https://doi.org/10.34098/2078-3949.41.3.3.
Study of the use of biochar in the removal of fluoride in water. This study aimed the determination of pyrolysis conditions to obtain a biochar capable of adsorbing fluoride in water. Tests were carried out with different raw materials (rice husk and sugarcane bagasse), addition of chemical modifiers (AlCl3, CaCl2, FeCl3) and pyrolysis temperatures (315 - 600 °C). Rice husk biochar modified with AlCl3 produced at 500 °C had the best fluoride removal efficiency (93.4 %). This material is good to treat water contaminated with fluoride.
