RAMIREZ, Raysa; CABRERA,, Saúl; PENARANDA, Juan C.  and  GARCIA, Gustavo. Síntesis atrano/hidrotérmica/solvotérmica de nanopartículas de TiO2 y su caracterización para la degradación fotocatalítica de cianuro a partir de soluciones acuosas. Rev. Bol. Atrane / hydrothermal / solvothermal synthesis, characterization of TiO2 nanoparticles for photocatalytic degradation of cyanide in aqueous solutions. TiO2 nanoparticles have been obtained by the atrane/hydrothermal/solvothermal method from oxo-hydroxo titanatrane clusters (TOHAC) with aging times t = 1, 14 and 20 days. The effect of this synthesis parameter on the structural and morphological characteristics of the TiO2 products has been evaluated. The growth of the TOHACs was monitored by the Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) technique. On the other hand, TiO2 microparticles have been obtained by thermal sintering processes of the nanoparticles and by direct precipitation with water from titanium isopropoxide for comparison. The results showed that it is possible to control the growth of the TOHACs to obtain TiO2 nanoparticles of differentiated sizes. The nanoparticulate products with intermediate crystallinity and surface area showed better photocatalytic activity in the degradation of cyanide in water.
