Abstract

CONTRERAS CHURA, Hugo; BELIZARIO QUISPE, Germán  and  CHUI BETANCUR, Heber N.. Calidad del agua para consumo humano en los manantiales en la parcialidad de Jiscullaya, el Collao, Puno, Perú. Rev. Bol. Quim [online]. 2023, vol.40, n.2, pp.1-5. ISSN 0250-5460.  https://doi.org/10.34098/2078-3949.40.2.1.

Water quality for human consumption in the springs in the district of jiscullaya, el Collao, Puno, Peru. The quality of water for human consumption was determined in the springs of the Jiscullaya district of the Ilave district of the department of Puno, Peru. The chemical quality evaluation included physicochemical analyzes such as pH, CaCO3 (total hardness and alkalinity); Cl- ; SO4 2-; NO3 -, Ca2+; Mg2+ and total solids, besides bacteriological analysis using culture media for total coliforms and Eschericha coli. The physicochemical parameters found are within the maximum permissible limits for human consumption, however, the bacteriological analysis showed that the water is contaminated by coliforms. The information provided by the Siraya Health Post, to which the Jiscullaya partiality belongs, reports that the main diseases in the area are of digestive origin such as: parasitosis and diarrhea. The results of the present study suggest that the cause of these health conditions may be the poor biological quality of the water of the aforementioned partiality. This fact is a public health issue that the authorities should consider in their government programs. *Mail to: heberchui@gmail.com
