DE LA CRUZ VEGA, Sleyther A.; LA BORDA DUENAS TOVAR, Leo A.; MENDOZA FLORES, Cristian M. and GARRIDO OYOLA, José A.. Resistencia a compresión simple del concreto con yeso y residuos de conchas de abanico. Rev. Bol. Quim [online]. 2022, vol.39, n.1, pp.1-9. ISSN 0250-5460. https://doi.org/10.34098/2078-3949.39.1.1.
Fan shell waste is disposed of in landfills without prior treatment, contaminating large areas of the Peruvian coastal desert. This work seeks to analyze the simple compressive strength of concrete made with gypsum and fan shell residues. The waste treatment process is carried out by converting calcium carbonate into calcium oxide through a calcination process. The results of the differential thermal analysis showed that the suitable calcination temperature is 890°C. The composition of the plaster was 64.11% calcium and 33.81% sulfur. The composition of the calcined fan shell was 99.43% calcium and 0.49% strontium. The results showed that the compressive strength of the experimental concrete is 222 kg/cm2 compared to the pattern strength equal to 228 kg/cm2.
