RODRIGUEZ VALDIVIA, Marcelo; OCHARAN VELASQUEZ, Gladys; CALDERON SONCCO, Karen  y  BENAVIDES PAREDES, Víctor. Synthesis of zeolite Linde F through alkaline treatment with caustic potase from rocks of volcanic origin from sillar, Peru; its application in the adsorption of copper(II). Rev. Bol. Quim [online]. 2021, vol.38, n.1, pp.14-25.  Epub 30-Abr-2021. ISSN 0250-5460.  https://doi.org/10.34098/2078-3949.38.1.2.

This article reports the results of the synthesis of zeolitic material with adsorbent capacity, from rocks of volcanic origin from sillar, Arequipa, Peru. The experimentation was carried out in a stainless steel reactor using solutions with different concentrations of KOH (2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 M) at a constant temperature of 150 ° C. The contact time between the volcanic material and the solution was 24, 48 and 72 hours. The obtained product was characterized by means of scanning microscopic analysis (SEM) and cation exchange capacity (CEC). The results showed that synthetic zeolite was produced as a function of the concentration of KOH as the most influential independent variable. The highest cation exchange capacity (CEC) observed was 27.91 meq / 100g and corresponded to the formation of Linde F zeolite obtained with a 3.0 M KOH solution and for a time of 72 hours using a material whose particle size was 4 mm. Adsorption tests were carried out using solutions containing cations Cu2+ in order to evaluate their capacity and adsorption kinetics.
