ABSTRACT We carried out experiments concerning the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction in a closed reactor working with a pH of 0.097. We obtained the absorbance kinetic series for different reagents reference concentrations by means of spectroscopic methods, and using these concentrations, we defined a space in which we identify two regions of states: one containing the oscillatory states and the other with the stationary ones; these regions are separated by a fringe that is the counterpart to the Hopf bifurcation curve predicted by the Oregonator model. We also observed the modification of the bifurcation fringe with increasing pH values. Finally, we classified the oscillatory regime according to the kinetic series dynamics.
