Chromatographic fractionation of an acetone extract of the lichen Stereocaulon ramulosum afforded 1,3,7trimethylguanine (1), perlatolic acid (2), methyl β-orcinolcarboxylate (3), atranorin (4) and galactitol (5). The structures were elucidated using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
