ABSTRACT A diversity of titanium - containing porous alumina of the ICMUV - 1 type (Ti - ICMUV 1,  ¥ ≥ Al/Ti ≤ 2/1) has been synthesized from aqueous solution using a cationic surfactant (CTABr = Cetyltrimetilammnium bromide) as the structural directing agent, and molecular atrane complexes of Ti and Al as precursors. Atrane inertest toward hydrolysis allows harmonization of the reactivity of the Al and Ti species, which in turn avoids subsequent phases segregation and results in chemically very homogeneus materials.  Materials characterization was by XRD, EPMA, TEM and N2 adsorption - desorption isotherms.
