Abstract

TICONA, Juan Carlos et al. ESTUDIO FITOQUÍMICO DE LAS HOJAS DE BOWDICHIA VIRGILIOIDES. Rev. Bol. Quim [online]. 2006, vol.23, n.1, pp.34-39. ISSN 0250-5460.

Bowdichia virgilioides, is a medicinal plant used by the Tacana ethnic group. The leaves of this tree were collected, during the dry season, in the Abel Iturralde province, Bolivia. The dry and pulverized leaves were macerated with methilenechloride, and the raw extract did not show activity at 10μg/mL, against Plasmodium falciparum (strand F32, sensible to chloroquine). Chromatographic studies of the crude extract and spectroscopical analysis of the isolated substances allowed us to identify: Lupeol (1), Lupenone (2), β-sitosterol (3), stigmasterol (4) and β-amyrine (5), as the main triterpenes components along with non identified fatty acids.

Keywords : Bowdichia virgilioides; hojas; P.falciparum; terpenos tipo lupano; oleanano y esteroles.
