The medicinal species Galipea longiflora (Evanta) is used as antiparasitic agent by the amazonian ethnic groups: Tacana, Mosetene and Tsimane. The total alkaloids, of this plant, will be focus of clinical studies against Leishmania cutaneous. The current studies give details of the isolation and characterization of quinolinic alkaloids, from bark and leaves, with leismanicidal activity evaluate on promastigote of L. amazonensis, L. braziliensis, L. donovani and L. chagasi. We have evaluated the acute and subcronic toxicity together with pharmaco-kinetic parameters, for the crude extract, in murine model. Details for the, in vitro, semi continuous cell culture of Evanta are provided.
