The primary objective of this qualitative research is to examine the evolution of women’s rights under various political regimes in Afghanistan through an intersectional lens. To this end, the study undertakes a historical review. identifying the political regimes in which violations of Afghan women’s rights were more pronounced, depending on the political and religious factions in power during the armed conflicts over more than forty years (1979-2021). From an intersectional perspective, it analyzes factors such as culture, gender, ethnicity, and religion, which are interrelated and shape the situation of women in Afghanistan.
