This paper aims to contribute to the discussion regarding the factors that influence the failure or viability of right-wing projects in Bolivia. The objective is to analyze the behavior of the Bolivian right in the period 2005 - 2020 and how the hegemonic project of the process of change influenced it. Through a documentary review, the analysis of the results of the presidential elections and the study of government plans of right-wing parties, four effects that the MAS-IPSP had on the Bolivian right are identified, to conclude that, faced with the impossibility of building an alternative project to that of the MAS-IPSP, the Bolivian right took political action with the help of diffuse discourses such as “the defense of democracy.”
