The article describes part of the findings of research carried out in 2023, which allow us to affirm that currently the coca leaf market is characterized by two aspects: the expansion - diversification of the routes and forms of urban and rural commerce of coca at every level, as part of the reconfiguration of the coca market in the department of La Paz, where the largest area of coca production in Bolivia. This shows that the department of La Paz is a space of provition and circulation which extends to the other departments of the country: a huge internal market, wholes and retail, for coca leaf. The factors that lead to this trend of expansion and diversification have to do with the conditions generated by the new law and its commercial revaluation for various actors.
