Abstract

RODRIGUEZ CHAVEZ, Tania. Ethno-territorial fabrics of the internal migration of quechuas of North Potosí in Cochabamba. Temas Sociales [online]. 2023, n.52, pp.60-94.  Epub May 31, 2023. ISSN 0040-2915.  https://doi.org/doi.org/10.53287/nmhr6095bq80t.

This article describes how indigenous internal migration in Bolivia has generated complex and dynamic ethno-territorial fabrics. The study, from a sociolinguistics of migration approach, analyzes the discourse of migrant Quechuas from the 1ro de Mayo neighborhood in Cochabamba. The findings show the construction of a mobile territory and plural territoriality linked to the traditional territory where Quechua language is weakening, but other languages and ethno identity referents are emerging.

Keywords : Internal migration in Bolivia; indigenous; Quechuas; territory; ethnicity; sociolinguistics of migration..
