Abstract

During the 2019 post-electoral conflicts in Bolivia, the military/police operations carried out in the Senkata and Sacaba ended with dozens of deaths and at least a hundred injured. In a context of strong social polarization, the interpretation of violence against protesters and police/military actions was not univocal. This paper presents advances of an investigation of how these events were interpreted by columnists of the main Bolivian newspapers during the first two years after the event, based on the theory of cultural Strong Program in Cultural Sociology.
