Abstract

ROCHA GONZALES, Natalia. (Re)living the walk of Mauricio Lefebvre: horizons, challenges and utopias for the sociologist and the university of the 21st century. Temas Sociales [online]. 2022, n.50, pp.125-137.  Epub May 01, 2022. ISSN 0040-2915.  https://doi.org/10.53287/wqcd4291wk68x.

The essay updates the legacy of Mauricio Lefebvre by placing his life and work in the present. His life is presented as an allegory of the formation of the sociologist, with a thirst for justice and a conviction to know in order to change. Later present a historical journey from his death to the present, revealing the old-new problems of Bolivian reality. Finally, we reflect on the position of the university and sociology, with a view to building a new utopia on the bases of Lefebvre.

Keywords : Mauricio Lefebvre; history of Bolivia; actual problems; sociology; university; utopia.
