QUISPE YUJRA, Magaly. Infanticide and extreme violence against boys, little girls and infants in Bolivia. Temas Sociales [online]. 2022, n.50, pp.11-44. Epub May 01, 2022. ISSN 0040-2915. https://doi.org/10.53287/byxi7516ca53h.
The article analyzes the roles socially assigned to women and men around motherhood and fatherhood, as well as some stereotypes that try to explain the causes of infanticide and extreme violence against boys, little girls and infants. Data constructed from hemerographic information obtained on victims and defendants or perpetrators were reviewed in two stages: the nine years before the arrival of Covid 19 and the quarantine period in the 2020. It was found that on the one hand, that most of the children die at the hands of their parents or those who are assuming that role - mothers mainly - and on the other hand, it is necessary to consider the phenomenon from different disciplines.
