This research studies shared housing as a factor of social differentiation, since it is a resource that is unequally distributed among the residents and provokes class distinctions which are expressed in daily life, thus displaying different living conditions. It explores structural and practical issues from the micro level on the basis of three case studies which express problems of social class, internal organization, kinship, social space and governance.
