Abstract

CHOQUEHUANCA CALLISAYA, Ramiro Javier  and  CACERES CATORETY, Ana María. "Rebellious girls who obey" vs. "obedient girls who rebel": Adolescent pregnancy-motherhood in El Alto night life. Temas Sociales [online]. 2020, n.47, pp.36-67. ISSN 0040-2915.

Adolescent pregnancy-maternity is, paradoxically, a problem "nourished" by social judgments and prejudices, which avoids and confines in "clandestinity" the feelings, thoughts and actions of the adolescents involved. However, the accelerated changes in the city of El Alto suggest that the adolescent-youth dynamic shapes distinctive and also valid social relations. For this reason, this article explores the subjective field of pregnancy-maternity in their own time-spaces and from the viewpoints of those who experience it.

Keywords : adolescent pregnancy-maternity; night spaces; adult people; Bolivia; La Paz; Ceja de El Alto; prevention.
