This research analyzes how the social policies and the discourse of the Bolivarian Revolution incorporated vulnerable sectors into the imagination of the middle class, through social programs that favored the acquisition of goods at subsidized prices. To this end, the analysis of primary and secondary sources that included press statements and official documents was used. In terms of the results, it was demonstrated how the cycle of high oil prices promoted a consumer revolution which contradicted the official rhetoric promoting class struggle.
