Abstract

Abstract this study is in the arca of professional ethics, particularly in the context of applied cthics. It aimed to identify the representations that classroom teachers in Bolivarian (Venezuelan) schools have concerning excellence in teaching. Thc rescarch was qualitative. Thc outcome was that excellence is conecived on (a) an ontological level which ineludes vocation, profile and affectivity; (b) normative vision and (c) social recognition. Each of these representations is underlaid by values which configure thc teachers' professional cthics.
