Abstract

REYES GARCIA, Gabriela Jeanneth. Murder or feminicide? Case studies in the department of La Paz. Temas Sociales [online]. 2018, n.43, pp.125-152. ISSN 0040-2915.

Abstract This article analyses case studies of men and women prosecuted for crimes against the life under the Bolivian Criminal Code. The principal problematic is the feminist theory of feminicide that some Bolivian feminist organizations use, which establishes that men accused of murdering their female partners are treated leniently, giving them a minimum sentence or none at all. This study takes into consideration the conduct of the defendants in the moment of the crime and the treatment they received from the Judicial System.

Keywords : feminicide in Bolivia; murder; criminal sociology; crime.
