Abstract This article will try to explain the dynamics of mobile phone thefts as a form of playful sociability among young offenders in two secondary schools in the city of La Paz. Small groups of associates carry out criminal actions in order to use the booty collectively or individually to purchase valued items. Theft is part of youths' group activity as an action which is enjoyed for its own sake.
