Abstract

OJEDA COPA, Alex. The organization of networked movements in the Plurinational State. Temas Sociales [online]. 2018, n.42, pp.37-62. ISSN 0040-2915.

Abstract On the basis of a comparative analysis of nine network movements which use the Internet as a central means of coordination and have emerged after the foundation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, we identify common organizational characteristics in their structure, format and functions. These features display a new type of emergent organization, open and modular, which supports collective action and shows the nascent power of individual participation in networks in this country.

Keywords : social movements; Internet; social networks; civic engagement; politics.
