Abstract

SILES COSTA, Natalia Lucía. The studyof sex practices in Bolivia. Temas Sociales [online]. 2017, n.41, pp.115-143. ISSN 0040-2915.

The paper argues that the study of sexual practices is not irrelevant to sociology nor something relatively recent as it is usually thought, and raises a balance of how this subject has been studied in human and social sciences in Bolivia. Based on Morrows work (2008) mainly, it explains the history of the relationship between sociology and sexual practices in the United States and Europe, landing on what happens in Latin America with the support from other sources. On the other hand, based on a bibliographical review of what has been written in Bolivia regarding sexual practices, it states a categorization of how the subject has been approached and what is still pending.

Keywords : sociology; sexuality; sexual practices.
