Abstract On the database of Latinobarometro and the theory about the establishment of the neoliberalism in Latin America, this paper proposes that the imposition and continuation of that model were facilitated by the proneoliberal attitudes of the citizens. These attitudes would consist on the assessment model of free market as the best for the country; the evaluation of this model as the only one that would make possible the development; the perception of the privatizations as beneficial for the country; and the satisfaction with the privatizations. Therefore as the establishment and continuation of the neoliberal governments happened in Latin America for electoral via, the proneoliberal attitudes of the citizens would constitute the base of a governed consensus.
