Abstract

PAZ RADA, Eduardo. The historical influence of patriotic conviction. Temas Sociales [online]. 2016, n.38, pp.125-152. ISSN 0040-2915.

The history of Bolivian society has been marked by the contradictions and struggle held withthe capitalist global potencies overthe exploitation of natural resources and at the same time the expansion of political and ideological power over Latin America. Is in this context that the studies, discoveries and analysis developed by Andrés Soliz Rada in his different works, that follow the tradition of names such as Montenegro, Almaraz, Zavaleta and Quiroga Santa Cruz, and his political and existential commitment allows us to recover the tradition of National Left, Latin American Socialism and emancipatory thoughtthat influences the contemporary political processes in the development of patriotic consciousness and the nationalization of hydrocarbons.

Keywords : National thought; natural resources; imperialism; neoliberalism; nationalization; left; Patria Grande; Gonismo.
