The purpose of this article is to analyze the vulnerability of older adults within a population aging process, between 2002 and 2012, through an analysis of demographic variables, based on household surveys, with a breakdown by area residence and gender. First, the topic of aging in Bolivia is contextualized by a review of national studies and, second, a socio-demographic profile of the vulnerability of older adults between 2002 and 2012 over eight dimensions is made, showing an aging process (unequal) between residence areas in which Bolivia is and where rural socio-economic conditions of older adults are below the urban
