Abstract Society has classified certain careers as masculine under the presumption that men perform better in them than women. This is the case of careers in Engineering. For this reason, the participation of women has always been less significant than that of men in number and in career development. The objective of this research was to determine, from a documentary analysis, the level of training of women and their work trajectory in engineering compared to that of men. We analyzed 123 resumes of women and men trained in engineering careers, taking into account only Exact Sciences Engineering. When comparing the resumes of male and female engineers of the same age range and career training, we found that women, although they have the same training as men, have a career path of lesser rank than that of their colleagues.
