SUSANA LUCIA, Aguilar-Maldonado; GALLEGOS-CARI, Andrea  y  MUNOZ-SANCHEZ, Sinuhé. Analysis of components and definition of the concept of resilience: a narrative review. Revista de Psicologia [online]. 2019, n.22, pp.77-100. ISSN 2223-3032.

ABSTRACT There are several definitions of resilience, in the 70s of the last century it was used to describe those people who despite having suffered serious economic problems were able to recover psychological stability and face the situation in a healthy way. In the 1980s it was used to refer to the aptitude of those who, after having suffered serious conflicts, were able to maintain a mental equilibrium. The Spanish Royal Academy defines it as the adaptation capacity of a living being in front of a disturbing agent, state or adverse situation. Taking into account the results of the various studies on the subject, it seems that this definition is insufficient to determine its meaning. Therefore, a narrative review of resilience definitions made from different perspectives was carried out, reported in articles, books and pages of related associations, in order to identify their components and develop a definition that would include them, finding 32 definitions, 30 authors or set of these, in 31 sources, identifying five components and a restriction. It is concluded that resilience is a dynamic process that can be promoted in any organism when exposed to adversity and the stress generated by it.

Palabras clave : definition resilience; Psychological Stress; protective factors; risk factors; psychological resilience.
