BERNAL, Edgar Uriarte; HERNANDEZ, Gustavo Alonso Mondragón y WILLIS, María Lucia Mocarro. Training model in competencies for educational quality in mathematics teachers. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.31, pp.2644-2657. Epub 16-Oct-2023. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v7i31.691.
In Peru, university expansion from 5 to more than 140 institutions by 2017 did not guarantee better educational quality; many private universities showed lower quality. In response, since 2014, reforms were promoted with the University Law, prioritizing science and technology policies to raise academic standards. Therefore, the relevance of the educational model in competencies for the professional career of mathematics was analyzed; under a systematic review of studies up to 7 years old from databases such as ERIC, SCOPUS, Web of Science (WOS), Scielo, Dialnet; the search equation was "Competency Based Education" and "Curriculum development" and "Mathematics" in English and Spanish, using the Boolean operator AND. The search results yielded 169 searches in total prior to criteria, leaving 20 sources selected to complement the analysis. It was concluded that the competency-based education model is adequate for the professional career of mathematics, with the need to continue making proposals and research.
