ESPINOZA CENTELLAS, Fernando Nelzon. Quality Evaluation of Writing Skills of Current First Year University Students at UMSA. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2017, vol.2, n.1, pp.80-87. ISSN 2518-8283.

Abstract This study, of qualitative nature, studied the writing skills of students that have just started studies at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. In this respect, it has been detected that there are important problems in the current quality of academic writing, so it was considered important to update this data to know if the situation continues, or changed in some way, and to identify the skills in which greater problem exists. The primary results of the study point out that the situation hasn't changed at all and that the levels of performance of the majority of students are quite deficient to write academically at higher education.

Keywords : Language; academic writing; educational quality measurement.
