Abstract

DE PRADA, Juan Manuel. Hispanicity and the Black Legend. Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2014, n.17, pp.44-47. ISSN 2306-8671.

The article develops a rereading of the Hispanicity beyond the "Black Legend" which attends the coming together with the Americas. It affirms that historically a collective national and international imaginary has been forged, fixated upon the succession of calamities, infiltrated with stereotypes and themes minted in the pockets of power opposed to the Spanish Crown. Highlights the existence of an ignored Spanish idiosyncrasy based on the affective link framed by the profound notion of human and fraternal equality.

Keywords : Hispanicity; Black Legend; Equality.
