Abstract

MEDINACELLI G., Ximena. Bertonio and the Myth of Tunupa. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2012, n.28, pp.133-151. ISSN 2077-3323.

This is a research on written registers of the myth of Tunupa. Starting the earlier references in Jesuit’s an Augustinian’s writings, which were gathered from indigenous oral tales. The second part analyses how Bertonio builds up the myth in his works, stating that it is different from other works because he shows more respect to the originality upon the religious Aymara specificity.
