INSTRUCCIONES TO AUTHORS

 

Standards for articles acceptance

The author must download from the journal's website, fill out and attach their contribution to the single form that includes the following information:

  • Request for evaluation of the article. The declaration of individual or collective authorship (in the case of works made by more than one author); Each author or co-author must certify that they have contributed directly to the intellectual development of the work and that they approve it to be evaluated by peers under the double-blind system and, where appropriate, published. Declaration that the original delivered is unpublished and is not being evaluated in any other publication. Data: name, academic degree, institution where he works, address, telephone, email.
  • Summarized curriculum of the author that does not exceed 5 lines, on a separate sheet.
  • The work and documents requested above will be sent to the email address: editor@revistahorizontes.org
  • Papers must be submitted in letter size, with 12 point Times New Roman font, one column, and in upper and lower case.
  • The title must be trilingual (Spanish, English and Portuguese) and may not exceed 15 words.
  • All contributions must be accompanied by an abstract in Spanish that does not exceed 150 words, with five to six keywords that are included in the IRESIE controlled vocabulary, plus the translation of said abstract into English (abstract) with its corresponding keywords or keywords.
  • The keywords will be presented in alphabetical order. All papers must have conclusions.
  • The graphic elements (tables, graphs, diagrams, drawings, photographs) will be numbered in order of appearance and in the ideal place in the body of the text with their respective sources at the bottom and their original programs. That is, they should not be inserted into the text in the image format.
  • The photographs must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and 140 mm wide.
  • Footnotes will be avoided, unless they are absolutely essential to clarify something that cannot be inserted in the body of the text. The reference of any textual quotation, idea or paraphrase will be added at the end of it, in parentheses, in accordance with the guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA).
  • The list of bibliographic references should also be structured according to the Vancouver style.
  • All digital magazine articles must bear the corresponding DOI, and the retrieval date will be added to the texts taken from modifiable web pages.

 

Peer reviewing process

The estimated time from acceptance of the work by the evaluators to publication is estimated at three (3) months. CET's Horizontes Journal reserves the right to suggest formal modifications to the articles that are accepted for publication. All texts sent must be governed by Vancouver style for the presentation of articles.

This quality control system is developed throughout the editorial process of the journal in digital format, as follows:

  • It begins with the process of receiving the article proposals made by the author (s). Next, the article is rigorously evaluated by the Editorial Committee, anticipating that it has the parameters of structure, clarity of the objectives, coherence of ideas, relevance of the methodology, soundness of the results and discussion, conclusions and references, in order to guarantee the relevance, originality of the contributions, scientific rigor and ethics in the editorial process, reserving the committee the right to refer experts on the issue raised.
  • Subsequently, two pairs external to the publishing institution, national or international, will be assigned as evaluators of the article under the double-blind peer review process modality, and in case of disagreement in the concepts, a third evaluating pair will be assigned to settle disagreements; they are the ones who will make observations and issue an opinion in terms of: (a) Accepted for publication, (b) Pending publication, or (c) Not accepted for publication.
  • Finally, the article is published in the number corresponding to the one that is structured according to current and pertinent topics. That is why the article proposal is entered into our system responding to the parameters established by the Editorial Committee.

The following criteria are taken into account during the arbitration process:

  • Compliance with the guidelines of the International Comitee of Medical Journal Editors.
  • Relevance of the topic to the coverage area of ​​what is published in the ALFA Journal.
  • Contribution of new theoretical and practical knowledge on the subject studied.
  • Rigorousness and objectivity with the topic addressed.
  • Adequate, clear and consistent use of the written language.
  • Updating and validity of the informed referential framework (last five years).

Later, two external peers will be assigned to the publishing institution, these can be national or international; as reviewers of the article under the double-blind peer review process modality, and in the event of disagreement on the concepts, a third peer reviewer will be assigned to resolve the disagreements; they are the ones who will make observations and issue an opinion in terms of: (a) Accepted for publication, (b) Pending publication, or (c) Not accepted for publication.
